What lies ahead in 2024?
In 2024 you can expect ongoing changes in workers compensation, health & safety across Australia.
In NSW workers compensation, the new icare Claims Service Providers (CSP) are receiving more & more clients transferring from EML. We anticipate this will lead to a more service-focused model with CSP’s striving to progressively gain greater market share.
In Victoria, we expect continued pressure regarding the ongoing viability of the workers compensation scheme & amongst other challenges.
In underwritten States/Territories (ACT, WA, NT & Tas) we envisage underwriters focusing on the premium required to cover increasing claim costs impacted by wages & other inflationary pressures.
Worksafe has already banned engineered stone use from 1 July 2024. We also expect the focus on Psychosocial Injuries & Hazards to continue.
