The icare Claims Transition Pilot is reshaping how NSW employers manage workers’ compensation claims. As part of icare’s ongoing reforms, the pilot focuses on improving efficiency, transparency, and outcomes for injured workers. For businesses, this means greater flexibility in choosing claims service providers (CSPs) and clearer accountability in claims management. ABILITY GROUP is here to help employers understand and leverage these changes for better workplace results.
Following employer and broker feedback, icare is considering transferring claims when businesses change providers.
This means that all claims for the insured would be consolidated with a single claims service provider.
icare has announced that a pilot transfer will come into place this month, transitioning a small portfolio of open and closed claims between claims service providers to test this capability.
icare and the claims service providers have designed a system model to support injured workers and employers, whilst taking all necessary steps to ensure that the process does not have a negative impact on injured workers’ return to work journey.
The results of the pilot will determine its viability for future transfers.
