WORK HEALTH AND SAFETY
Make your safety processes useful in everyday work
ABILITY GROUP reviews WHS responsibilities, documents and practices to identify where the system works and where it needs attention. We can focus on a specific process or examine the wider approach across your workplace.

WHS Systems & Reviews: practical support for employers
A WHS system review considers how an employer organises safety responsibilities, communicates expectations and follows through on workplace issues. ABILITY GROUP helps identify gaps between written processes and how work is actually managed. Our focus is a practical system your leaders and workers can use, rather than a larger collection of documents that is difficult to maintain.
What our support can cover
Responsibilities and decision pathways
Review who owns key safety activities, who receives information and how issues are escalated for decisions and follow-up.
Policies and procedures
Consider whether selected documents reflect the work, are understandable to the people using them and connect with relevant operating processes.
Hazard and incident reporting
Examine how concerns are recorded, communicated, reviewed and translated into action, including visibility of overdue or recurring matters.
Consultation and communication
Review how workers and relevant representatives can contribute to safety discussions and how decisions are communicated back to them.
Induction and contractor processes
Consider the safety information, responsibilities and coordination needed when people join a workplace or work alongside other businesses.
Records and improvement tracking
Review the way evidence, actions and review dates are maintained so managers can understand progress and outstanding priorities.
When this service can help your business
Documents have accumulated over time
A business may have several versions of the same procedure or documents that are no longer relevant. A focused systems review helps identify what needs simplifying, updating or connecting.
Actions are recorded but not completed
Reporting tools can generate large lists without clear ownership. We can examine how priorities are assigned, escalated and reviewed so the process supports management action.
Different sites use different approaches
Local operating needs can coexist with common expectations. A multi-site review can help identify which processes should be consistent and where a local variation is justified.
What you can expect from the engagement
Outputs may include a summary of system strengths and gaps, recommendations for selected processes, revised documents and a staged implementation plan. We can help clarify action ownership, review points and reporting needs. The work is described as WHS Systems & Reviews and does not provide ISO certification, an accredited audit or a guarantee of legal compliance.
How we work with your team
We agree which parts of the system matter to your current concerns, review the available documents and speak with people who use the processes. Where relevant, workplace observations help test how the arrangements operate in practice. We then discuss improvements that fit your size, activities and resources, with optional support for implementation and review.
Why work with ABILITY GROUP?
WHS support is grounded in Julie Ring's WHS qualifications and the group's experience with workplace safety, injury management and workers compensation. Your engagement is scoped around the work, the relevant risks and the support your people need.
WHS Systems & Reviews FAQs
What is included in a WHS system review?
The scope can include responsibilities, policies, consultation, reporting, inductions, contractor arrangements, action tracking and records. We agree the relevant components first so the review answers your business questions rather than applying an unnecessarily broad checklist.
Is this an ISO 45001 certification audit?
No. AG provides practical WHS systems assessments, reviews and improvement support. A formal certification audit or accredited assurance requirement is a separate service and should not be inferred from this review.
Can you review our existing documents instead of starting again?
Yes. Existing documents are often a useful starting point. We consider what is current and workable, where gaps or duplication exist and which changes would have the greatest practical value for your organisation.
Can ENABLE>SYSTEMS support our WHS processes?
AG can discuss whether ENABLE>SYSTEMS is suitable for the actions, records or workflows you need to manage. Software should support the agreed process; its availability does not replace the need to define responsibilities, consult with people and follow through.
Will you implement the recommendations for us?
Implementation support can be included where agreed. This may involve selected documents, action planning, process changes and progress discussions with your internal team. The business retains its responsibilities and decisions about the measures it adopts.
Can you help prepare for an external review?
We can review your current arrangements, identify practical gaps and help your team organise improvement actions and supporting information. Any external reviewer or certification body applies its own criteria and makes its own assessment.
How do you stop the system becoming too complicated?
We begin with the work, the people using the process and the decisions that need to be supported. Recommendations should be proportionate to the agreed scope, with clear ownership and a manageable approach to maintaining documents and records.
