Since 2012, ABILITY GROUP has supported employers with workers compensation, workplace safety, injury management and rehabilitation. We work alongside your leaders and existing insurer or claims agent, with the employer's priorities at the centre of the work.
Choose the workers compensation help you need
Program review & consulting
Get an independent view of claims trends, premiums, providers, governance and practical priorities for improvement.
Claims management support
Bring structure to claim reviews, insurer communication, actions and employer decision making across your portfolio.
Premium & policy management
Understand policy information, classifications, claims cost drivers and renewal questions before costs become a surprise.
Connected support beyond the policy
Workers compensation outcomes are shaped by what happens before and after a claim. Our team can connect employer claims and premium advice with return to work services, injury management and WHS advice where relevant to the agreed scope. HEALTH ABILITY can provide workplace rehabilitation and allied health support when appropriate.
When should an employer seek a review?
- Premiums have risen unexpectedly or the basis for a policy calculation is unclear.
- Claims are taking longer than expected or communication with providers is difficult.
- Your business operates across multiple Australian schemes or has changed its workforce or structure.
- You need specialist capacity, an independent view or a more consistent program.
How we work
- Understand the issue. We discuss your organisation, scheme, current arrangements and the decision you need to make.
- Review the evidence. The agreed scope may include policy, premium, claims, provider and return to work information.
- Set priorities. We explain findings, recommended actions, responsibilities and where hands-on support would help.
Workers compensation questions from employers
What does a workers compensation consultant do?
A consultant helps an employer understand its workers compensation performance and improve the way it manages policy, premiums, claims, providers and return to work. The work can be a focused review or ongoing support.
Does ABILITY GROUP manage claims on behalf of an insurer or scheme?
No. Our employer-side support is distinct from the insurer or scheme claims service provider's role. We work with the employer and liaise with its insurer, agent and other stakeholders as the agreed service requires.
Can you help with one difficult issue or an entire program?
Both. We can scope a specific premium or claim concern, or review the wider program to identify connected cost and performance drivers.
Can you support employers operating in several states?
Yes. We can discuss a national program and the different scheme requirements that apply to your locations. Advice and available options depend on the relevant jurisdiction.
